Ethel Virginia Kepler Minnick

November 27, 1921 — September 7, 2014

Ethel Virginia (Green) Kepler Minnick, 92, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at NMS Healthcare.

Born November 27, 1921 in Thurmont, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Allen and Olive M. Green.

Ethel worked as a homemaker but did house cleaning for many people in town.

She enjoyed painting, especially ceramics and playing dominos. Ethel will also be remembered as a great cook.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence J. Kepler; her second husband, Walter E. Minnick, Sr.; a daughter, Virginia Mae Moore; a granddaughter, Shawn Ashley Minnick; four sisters; and two brothers.

Surviving her are three sons, Walter E. Minnick, Jr. and partner Sam Coldsmith, Ray Kepler and wife Wilma, Donald W. Minnick and partner Vicki Jordan; a daughter, Carolyn Rausch and husband Kevin; a sister, Lottie Bittinger; four grandchildren, Demeta Matlack, Kimberley Thomas, Wendy Newlin, Mark Rausch; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with the Rev. Mark Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 6-8pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ethel's name to Hospice of Washington County Doey Building Fund, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
