Frances LaRue Koons, 81, of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Coffman Nursing Home, Hagerstown.
Born September 23, 1938 in Funkstown, Md. she was the daughter of the late, C. Elmo and Madeline L. (Jacob) Bohn. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Koons and her stepfather, John Swope.
Frannie was a 1956 graduate of Hagerstown High School and from Scotts Beauty School, Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Funkstown.
In addition to being a homemaker and seamtress, Frannie retired in 1990 from Montgomery Wards where she worked in the Hair Salon as a Cosmetologist.
Frannie is survived by two children, Lisa White (Lloyd) of Hancock, Md. and Robert Koons of Big Pool, Md.; one brother, Rev. Jay Bohn (Mary) of Halifax, Pa.; three grandchildren, Felicia Scott (Jeremey), Carly Chambers and Matthew Chambers; four great grandchildren, Robert L. Scott, Landyn Chambers, Madeline Beaty and Brooklyn Chambers; in-laws, Marge Teel (Adrian) of Lakewood Ranch, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Jay Bohn and Pastor Lee Brumback officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frannie's name to Coffman Nursing Home, (Activities Department) 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742 or to Multiple Sclerosis Society, nationalmultiplesclerosissociety.org
