Fred Edwin Woodward, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at home.
He was born on May 7, 1946, in Plainfield, New Jersey, and was the son of the late Freddie S. Woodward and June L. (Schnitzer) Woodward. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Wendy M. (Woodward) Hogbin.
He graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1964. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1965, where he served as a carpenter stationed in The Philippines during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1969, and worked at Mack Trucks in Hagerstown.
Fred is survived by his youngest daughter, Kathy L. (Woodward) Stump; five grandchildren, Sarah A. (Hogbin) Reynolds, Timothy L. Hogbin, Kelsey M. Hogbin, Asher A. Stump, and Evan M. Stump; and one great-grandchild, Caleb E. Reynolds.
Funeral services will be held grave-side on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, 17636 W. Washington Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. Interment at Cedar Lawn will follow.
Friends will be received on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, no more than 25 people are permitted in the building at a time. Face masks and social distancing are required.
