Gail F. Miller age 82, passed away peacefully on her birthday September 1, 2024. She was born September 1, 1942 in Oceanside, New York to Timothy and Beverly Shanahan where she graduated high school in 1960.
She loved the holidays and providing gifts was her passion and was always surprised upon receiving gifts from her family and friends. Gail loved sports and always had pets that she nurtured and bought endless joy and happiness.
For many years she worked for Orion Networks Systems until retirement and was so pleased to make lifelong friends. Every summer she and her close friends Beverly, Pat and Peggy stayed at Bethany Beach which was always the highlight of her summer.
Gail is survived by her husband of 62 years Gary Charles Miller and her sister Beverly Lanning and nieces Coleen. Elizabeth and nephew David Lanning. Gail’s siblings included brother’s Raymond and Timothy and younger sister Helen each of whom passed previously.
Loving and devoted mother of her two children Suzanne Marie Miller Perry and Charles Gary Miller and instilled her belief of “Do what’s right and do what’s good and be kind and help others”. Suzanne Marie Miller Perry lived this belief every day until she passed away on February 23, 2022 and leaves behind her husband Mark Raymond Perry. In addition, she is survived by her daughter in law Donna Michelle Miller married to Charles.
The greatest joy in her life were her grandchildren Logan and Jake Miller and Ryan Perry and always wanted the details about their sporting events and always their greatest fan.
A Celebration of Gail’s life will be held Wednesday morning September 11, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 224 W Washington St in Hagerstown, Maryland.
The family expresses appreciation to the hospice facility and staff at Doey’s House for their wonder care and compassion.
A private family memorial will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery.
