Gary Dennis Unger, 67, of Hagerstown, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Md.
Born Aug. 31, 1944, in Hancock, he was the son of the late Fonzie and Eleanor (McManus) Unger.
He retired as the owner and operator of Elite Auto Sales in Hagerstown.
Gary was a member of Paramount Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
Surviving him is his loving wife of 49 years, Jessie M. (Carbaugh) Unger; a son, Dustin G. Unger of Hagerstown; a daughter, Teresa Bivens of McConnellsburg, Pa.; four sisters, Betty Sipes, Jeanie Walls and Tina Starliper, all of Hancock, and Darlene Shives of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and two brothers, Donald Unger of Hancock and James Leroy Unger of Hagerstown.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Larry Rickard officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
