Genevieve Virginia (Carbaugh) Karn, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at her home.
Born Sept. 11, 1936, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Jack L. and Catherine I. (Snyder) Carbaugh.
Genevieve attended Harvest Baptist Church in Hagerstown.
She has worked as a CNA at Avalon Manor Nursing Home, a cook at Arby's and also as a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Laurence L. Karn Jr. and wife Chris A., and John L. Karn, both of Hagerstown, Brian E. Karn and wife Deanna of Williamsport, and Jeffrey L. Karn and wife Barbara E. of Hagerstown; two daughters, Kathy A. Duffey and husband Joel B. of Williamsport, and Rebecca E. Demers and husband Arthur P. of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; three brothers, Harry Carbaugh of Williamsport, Jack Carbaugh of Nashville, Tenn., and Gary Carbaugh of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Shane Wilt officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
