Genevieve Warner Roby, 92, of Catonsville, Maryland, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Lorien Columbia.
Born November 10, 1923 in Bluegrass, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Adam and Martha Ann (Hinkle) Warner of Circleville, West Virginia, and wife of the late John Gordon Roby of Petersburg, West Virginia.
Genevieve was a graduate of Circleville High School and attended Davis and Elkins College.
She was a member of the Catonsville Presbyterian Church, Catonsville Cotillion, and was very active in the Womans Club of Catonsville and the girl scouts. Genevieve enjoyed painting and studied under Gino Manelli, a professional artist and teacher in Ellicot City for many years. She won several blue ribbons for her oil paintings.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane Elliott and Elizabeth Roby and son-in-law Julian Gamble; two grandchildren, Stephanie and John Elliott; a sister, Ann Wimer; and two brothers, Jack and Edward Warner.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD.
