George Elmer "Butch" Hall, Jr., 74, of Hagerstown, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born February 17, 1941 in Frederick, he was the son of the late George Elmer Hall, Sr. and Nellie R. (Fogle) Hall.
Butch was a 1959 graduate of Frederick High School.
He previously worked at M. J. Grove Lime Company before owning a Tru-Value Hardware Store in Mt. Airy and his own commercial cleaning business. Butch retired after working over 20 years as a property manager for Public Storage. He will be remembered as a hard worker!
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Jill Joanne Hall, who died on December 30, 2009; a sister, Helen V. Hall Miller-Scott; and a granddaughter, Jessica.
He is survived by his son, Bret Hall; three nephews, Mark "Joey" Miller, Mike Miller, Matt Miller; a niece, Regina Costlow; six grandchildren, Jackie, Jenna, Jamie, Wyatt, Jenna, and Zane; a great-granddaughter, Grace; and his faithful cat, Sprinkles. Butch loved spending time with his family.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all who were involved with providing him care, including Dr. Mark Goldstein, the staff at FMH Cancer Center, Meritus Medical Center, and NMS Healthcare. A special thanks to his caring neighbors, Adam and Kristen Jagodowski.
