George William Spangler

George William Spangler Sr., 79, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on October 17, 2023, at Doey’s House in Hagerstown. He was the husband of Dorine Spangler.

Born on July 2, 1944, in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Harold and Helen (Straub) Spangler. He was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School class of 1963. George was a very hard worker and held many jobs over the years. He spent most of his time with London Fog as a sewing machine repairman and worked along side his son in auto sales at Spanky’s Used Cars. He was very proud of his hard work and his family.

In addition to his wife Dorine, he is survived by his children, George William Spangler II and wife, Kristi, Tammi Pauline Fuller and husband, Howard “Howie”, and Sean-Paul William Spangler and partner Megan Alsip and family; one brother, Edward Eugene Spangler; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Brianna Spangler, Gabrielle and Blake Fuller and Alex-Zander Spangler and two great-grandchildren, Hudson Gossard and Nora Larrimore. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 11am-1pm at Rest Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home in the chapel. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
