Georgia Arbutus (Butts) Martin, 86, of Hagerstown, died on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Citizen's Care Home in Frederick.
Born Feb. 18, 1928 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles James and Irene Catherine (Lowman) Butts.
Georgia was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Temple Builders Sunday school class. Georgia volunteered at the Salvation Army, serving meals and was a member of their Lady's Home League.
She retired from Hagerstown Manufacturing and Love Dress Factory as a seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Victor Lewis Martin, who died October 23, 1994; a brother, Charles W. Butts; and a sister, Vivian Mae Seal.
Georgia is survived by a sister, Lillian Irene Butts Moser of Hagerstown; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; numerous cousins; and a special friend and neighbor, Virginia Kline.
Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
