Gerald Lee "Jerry" King, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home.
Born June 29, 1931 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Edgar William and Dorothy Louise (Trager) King. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his brother, William D. King.
Mr. King was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
Mr. King retired from Mack Truck where he was section manager in Quality Control.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and a member of the Marine Corps League, Antietam Detachment, Hagerstown.
His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Mr. King is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Shirley (Cowan) King; two sons, Michael King of Hedgesville, W.Va. and Gregory King of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Jonathan King, Kara King, Briana King and Melanie King; two Jack Russell Terriers, Annie and Mandi.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Marine Corps League, Antietam Detachment.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M.
