Geraldine Petie Gelwicks

Geraldine Dolores "Petie" Gelwicks, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, October 12, 2015, at her home.

Born March 27, 1929 in Hagerstown she was the daughter of the late, Clarence Maynard and Ethel Pauline (Drury) Worthington. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, William L. Gelwicks; infant daughter, Cynthia J. Gelwicks; daughter, Georgia A. Boyd and a son, John W. Gelwicks.

Mrs. Gelwicks was a mother and homemaker and retired as a seamstress and proprietor of the Turn Over Shop. In addition to sewing she enjoyed cooking.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna G. Resh of Waynesboro, Pa.; three sons, William E. Gelwicks of Phoenix, Az., Gary L. Gelwicks of Hagerstown and Terry L. Gelwicks of Chambersburg, Pa.; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Allen Worthington and wife, Debbie of Hagerstown; one sister, Betty J. Keefauver of Hagerstown and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating.

Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7-9 P.M.
