Glenna Elaine Brechbill

Glenna Elaine (Miller) Brechbill, 86, of Smithsburg, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born September 11, 1930 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Minnie (Cline) Miller.

Glenna was a lifetime member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville.

She worked briefly as a time clerk for Fairchild Industries in the early 1950's, where she met her late husband, Russell.

Glenna loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and bird watching.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Russell Brechbill, who died Sept. 29, 2000; a son, David Brechbill; and all seven of her siblings, Helen, Charlotte, Mary, Romayne, John Harlan, Robert, and Betty.

Glenna is survived by her daughter, Janet Venneri and husband Sam of Middletown; a son, Daniel Brechbill of Smithsburg; four grandchildren, Joseph, Tiffany, Juliana, and Olivia; numerous nieces; nephews; and extended family. She is also survived by two former daughter-in-laws, Charlene of Clear Spring; and Renee of Cearfoss as well as Renee's children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor John Schildt officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
