Gregory “Greg” Lionel Kelley, 73 of Hagerstown, MD, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2022, while a resident at Sterling Care South Mountain. He was born in Hagerstown on May 3, 1949, to the late Charles R. Kelley and Doris (Moats) Itnyre. Greg was employed by Statton Furniture Company for over forty years also serving as the Union President until its closing.  After the closing Greg worked part time for Applause Catering and the Liberty Gas Station on Jefferson Blvd.  Greg also worked as an umpire for the Co-Ed Pinesburg Softball league as well a member of the Washington Country Fire Police. Until his death Greg was the Master for the Leitersburg Grange.  Greg was also a life member of the Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Department joining when he was 16 in 1965. Greg graduated from North Hagerstown High School with the class of 1967. Greg was a member of the Paramount Baptist Church. Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Frances “Fran” Kelley.  He is also survived by the following family members who have erased the word “step” from their vocabulary.  Sons, Brian Kelley (Krista), Jeffrey Myers (Hazel) and daughter Deborah Barrett (Curtis).  Grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ian Kelley, Jennifer Fazenbaker (Dwayne), Shana Smith (Jason) and Heather Palmer (Joe).  Great grandchildren, Damion Storer, Haley Palmer, Caleb Smith, Ryan Palmer, Joe Palmer III and Clayton Fazenbaker.  He is also survived by sisters, Cheryl “Kelley” Rhodes, Martha “Kelley” Morris (Lloyd) and Anita Jordan.  Brothers, Charles R. Kelley Jr., Stephen Jordan, Stanley Jordan and Mark Jordan.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Kelley, Russell Jordan and sister Kathy Kreps and Stepmother Marie Churchy. A special thanks to their neighbors Jim and Krista Franklin, who have been like family and always being there when needed. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday October 20th from 6-8 PM at the Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave.  Hagerstown, MD. The service will be on Friday October 21st at 2 PM at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel with Pastor Frank Duncan officiating. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions to help defray the funeral costs may be made to the family of Frances Kelley in care of Rest Haven Funeral Home.
