Guy Leon Rudisill Jr., 62, of Hagerstown, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving wife and family, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Washington County Hospital.
Born in Hagerstown on April 4, 1947, he was the son of Doris M. (St. Clair) Rudisill of Hagerstown and the late Guy Leon Rudisill.
He was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God, Hagerstown.
He was a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
He worked as a warehouse receiver at Hagemyer in Chambersburg, Pa., formerly Tri State Electric of Hagerstown, for over 40 years.
Guy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; taking walks in the park; and helping his brother, Clarence, at his store, J & C Deli.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna M. (Smith) Rudisill; a stepson, William Shank Jr. of Smithsburg; a stepdaughter, Christine Wyand, and husband Andy of Keedysville; two sisters, Regina R. Ross and Mary A. Detrow, both of Hagerstown; two brothers, Clarence G. Rudisill of Hagerstown and Kenneth L. Rudisill of Richland, N.C.; and four stepgrandchildren, Brittany Shank, Austin Shank, Taylor Wyand and Chad Wyand.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anna C. Emerson; a brother, Shadrack M. Rudisill; and a stepgrandson, Travis William Shank.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 2, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Paul A. Harne officiating.
Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, where military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard and the AMVETS Honor Guard of Hagerstown.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
