Harold Richard Higman

Harold Richard Higman, 85, of Maugansville, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by loving family.
Born on February 20, 1936 in Beaver Creek, MD, he was the son of the late Anna Florence (Poffenberger) and Harold Mangus Higman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; A. Elizabeth Wolfe and one brother; George "Jack" Higman.
Harold graduated from Boonsboro High School, class of 1954.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Harold worked for Potomac Edison until his retirement.
Harold was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed growing and farming a garden to share with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Phyrne L. (Hatfield) Higman; Daughters, Cynthia Davis and Julie Higman; Granddaughter, Casey Cauffman; Sisters, Charlotte Myers, Nancy Levick and Martha Fleming; and brother Robert Higman.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 2 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Reverend Mark Mooney officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Family will receive friends one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Washington County, 11370 Caring Pathway Lane, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
