Harriet Matthews, 94, of Hagerstown, passed away at Williamsport Retirement Village on Friday, November 11, 2020.
Born on April 21, 1926 in Gravesend, County Kent, England, Harriet was the daughter of the late Stephen and Rosena (Simmons) Bridgland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Edward Matthews; as well as her sister, Doris Bridgland; and brothers, Stephen Bridgland and John Bridgland.
Harriet was a world traveler, and settled in Hagerstown in 2005.
Harriet is survived by her daughter, Patricia Spellar and her husband, Peter. She is also survived by her grandchildren Andrew John Spellar and his wife Sherri, Rachel Louise O'Connor and her husband Craig, and Catherine Lousie Spellar; as well as her great-grandchildren Jordon, Alex, Owen, Emma, and Claire.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Rest Haven Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
