Harry M. Rohrer, Jr., 87, of Hagerstown passed away, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at his home.
Born February 16, 1929 in Hagerstown he was the son of the late, Harry M. Rohrer, Sr. and Lucy (Palmer) Rohrer; In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma (Shearer) Rohrer who died in 2000; six brothers, Lester, Arnold, William, Fenton, Earl and Howell; three sisters, Hazel, Mary and Phyllis.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Hagerstown and a lifetime member of the North American Rod and Gun Club.
Mr. Rohrer co-owned and operated the family business, Brook Meadow Meats, Hagerstown where he worked for 63 years, finally retiring in 2006.
He is survived by one daughter, Linda Cole and husband, Greg of Mercersburg, Pa.; three grandsons, Marty Towns and wife, Tami of Mercersburg, Leon Towns of Hagerstown and Jon Towns and wife, Stacey of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two great grandsons, Zachary Towns of Hagerstown and Nate Towns of Mercersburg; one brother, Robert Rohrer ; one sister, Alice Burkett; a special brother in law, Arthur Shearer, Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 24, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
