Harry Phillip Maus Sr., 67, of Boonsboro, passed away Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 14, 1943, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Hewitt William Maus and Mildred Emily Duvall. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Esther Sealock.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1961 to 1964. He was employed by the U.S. General Services Administration for 33 years. Harry was also an avid hunter, fisher and bowler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Nancy Catherine Catron Maus; two sons, Harry P. "Gus" Maus Jr. and wife Lauren R. Maus of Hagerstown and Michael S. Maus of Boonsboro; one sister, Lynette Lee Dulaney of Prince Frederick, Md.; four brothers, Hewitt William Maus Jr. of Edgewater, Md., Richard Edward Maus of Chesapeake Beach, Md., and Robert Alan and James Earl Maus of Hagerstown, Md.; three grandchildren, Kelli, Kerri and Nickolos Maus of Hagerstown; and a daughter-in-law, Tammy S. Phillips.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Jack Ewald officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
