Helen S. Conklin, passed away, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Charlotte's Home, Maugansville, Maryland.
Born on January 19, 1926 in New York City, she was the daughter of immigrant parents, John and Katherine (Plebanski) Stasyszyn. She had a sister (Anne Christie) and a brother (Leon Stasyszyn) who preceded her in death. Helen married Charles E. Conklin in 1947 and they lived in the Bronx and had two daughters (Cathy Wilson of Scottsdale, Arizona and Pauloette Sellers of Kearneysville, West Virginia) before moving to Eastchester, NY in 1964. Helen has a niece (Jane Christie) and a nephew (Keith Christie) and a grandson (Jarrod Wilson).
Helen always considered herself a New Yorker at heart having lived there for 47 years before moving to College Park, Maryland in 1973. Charlie preceded Helen in death on December 18, 1983. For the last 31 years, Helen lived in Hagerstown, Maryland and since May 2012, she was a resident at Charlotte's Home in Maugansville, Maryland.
Interment will be private and held at the Sloatsburg Cemetery in Sloatsburg, NY (also known as Eagle Valley)
