Helen Shirk Yourex

Helen Shirk Yourex, 97, of Hagerstown, passed away Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Broadmore Senior Living in Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 15, 1913, in Big Spring, Md., she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Hattie H. (Rash) Shirk.
Helen retired as a civilian administrative assistant for the U.S. Air Force.
She was Protestant by faith.
She is survived by three sisters, Edith Uber of Hagerstown, Charlotte Montgomery of Frederick, Md., and Edna S. Sharp of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she also preceded in death by her husband, George Yourex; three sisters, Marie Holden, Grace DuPree and Laura Hull; and one brother, Charles E. Shirk.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with her nephew, the Rev. Robert W. Sharp, officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one half-hour before services at the funeral home.
