Hugo Alberto Bryant, 83, of Frederick, Maryland, formerly of Lexington and Medford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2018 surrounded by his family. Hugo was born in Valparaiso, Chile on November 18, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos and Maria Estelvina Bryant, brother Carlos Horacio Bryant and wife Maria. He is survived by his beloved wife Teresa Bryant, his son Hugh A. Bryant and his wife Samantha of Williamsburg, VA, his daughter Elizabeth P. Larrabee and her husband Richard of Lexington, MA, his step-daughter Monica Glaze and her husband, Michael of Damascus, MD, six grandchildren, Natalie, Johnathan, Jason, Isabel, Capri and Katarina, nephews Carlos, Hugo, and Ricardo, and niece Jacqueline Bryant. Hugo had 60 rewarding years in his professional career. Beginning in 1955, as the Assistant Commissary Superintendent of the Anaconda Copper Mining Company in the Atacama Desert of Potrerillos, Chile. After relocating to Massachusetts with his family in 1972, he began working for the Bank of Boston for the next 14 years as an International consultant. In 1990, he changed careers to become the International Marketing Manager at John Nagle Company where he worked until his retirement in 2015. He considered everyone at the John Nagle Company to be his extended family. Hugo was a good-hearted and kind man to everyone that was fortunate to meet him. He loved to travel, to capture lifes precious moments in photographs, enjoyed jazz music, the ocean, dragonflies, and his homeland of Chile. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of family, good advice, his amazing strength in the face of adversity, and most of all, his faith and love of God.
In his memory, a mass will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph-on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church at 5843 Manor Woods Road in Frederick, MD 21703. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory, to Hospice of Frederick County at HospiceofFrederick.org.
