Ida Yvette Lane-Oberholzer, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hagerstown, Md.
Born Oct. 23, 1927, in Elkins, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Jennings and Evelyn McElwain.
She was employed for many years at Peoples Drug Store at the South End Shopping Center, and afterward worked at various other retail stores.
Through the years, she played the piano for various churches and Sunday schools, enjoyed sewing, painting, crafts, and participated in a senior bowling league for several years. She loved her role as wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer B. Lane, to whom she was married for 39 years; her husband, Elzie Farrow; and husband, Byron Oberholzer; and three sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her son, Larry A. Lane and his wife, Charlene, her grandson, Adam Lane and his wife, Shalom Black-Lane, and her great-granddaughter, Zofia Lane, all of Hagerstown; one brother, Reese McElwain of Elkins; and numerous nephews and nieces.
There will be a private family viewing. A graveside service will be held Friday, March 18, 2016, at 2:00pm at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, officiated by Rachel Black.
