Inge Maia Ruiseco

Inge Maia Ruiseco, a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and an extraordinary artist, passed away peacefully in Hagerstown, Maryland, on February 23, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on March 14, 1936, in city of Copenhagen, Denmark, she was the daughter of the late Maia and Holgar Christensen.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mario Ruiseco.

Known for her unique, bright, colorful, honest, and strong-willed personality, she was quite the catch. One memorable summer when she came aboard the L.H. CARL, where her father served as the head Chief Stewart, that’s when she met the love of her life, Mario Ruiseco, a meeting that would weave together their destinies.Inge’s journey saw her and Mario relocate from Denmark to the United States in 1956, where they built a life filled with love, creativity, and resilience. Professional and passionate, Inge became renowned as The Needlepoint Mounter for the American Needlework Center in Georgetown. Her artistry extended far beyond needlepoint; she was also a talented seamstress and designer, creating clothing and artwork. Canvas painting was another of her passions. Gardening nurtured by love, or in her kitchen, where she spun culinary magic, delighting family and friends with her fantastic cooking.

She is survived by her cherished children, Mario Ruiseco Jr., and Inge Ledden, along with her husband Ed. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren; Christopher Ledden and his wife Jennifer, and Nicholas Ledden

.Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
