Jack A Near

Jack A Near, 93, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2024, at Creekside Village in his hometown of Hagerstown, Maryland. Born on April 13, 1931, to the late Harold S. Near and Clara Elizabeth (Painter) Besore.

 He is survived by his loving daughters, Kathy Tucker, Sharon Near, Lee Ann Aikens, and Peggy Ashton and his sons, Jack Near Jr. and Jay Near. Jack was also grandfather to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. 

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no viewing or services. Jack had a unique sense of humor and no filter at times, but he will be truly missed by many.

Those left behind are encouraged to remember him not with formalities but through the fond memories shared and the love that he cultivated in countless hearts. A special thank you to the entire staff at Creekside Village for his care, also to all his friends at Potomac Towers.
