Jackie Russell King, Sr., 84 passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Creekside Rehabilitation in Hagerstown.
Born March 4, 1939, to Russell Victor King and Virginia Bowers Corsi, Jack was a life-long resident of South Hagerstown. He attended St. Mary Catholic School and graduated from South Hagerstown High in 1958. Jack joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany with the 187th Airborne Infantry. He retired from the A&P supermarket after over 40 years of service. Jack was an avid Lionel train collector and a member of the Lionel Collectors Club and the Train Collectors Association (TCA). He loved to talk trains and shared his knowledge and expertise at repair with many hobbyists throughout the 4- state region.
Jack is survived by his wife of over 58 years, Sandra Stump King; daughter Barbara Ellen Boyd (Merritt); sons Jackie Russell King II (Susan) and William Christopher King (Dixie); grandchildren Kaytlyn Elizabeth King, Emily Frances King, and Christopher Aaron King; great grandchildren Gavin Eugene Campbell; and numerous cousins.
There will be no viewing, Memorials can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Rest Haven Funeral home is handling arrangements for the family.
