James A. "Jim" Booth, 83, of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away on June 13, 2016 at Julia Manor in Hagerstown.
He was born on March 12, 1933 in Washington County and was the son of the late James R. and Lena M. Booth
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one sister, Maxine P. Slack.
Jim graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1951. Over his career, he worked for Dorbee Manufacturing, ADP Inc. where he was named the first million dollar sales person for the company and in 1981 opened his own computing business, Custom Computing, Inc. in Hagerstown until he retired.
He was a life long member of the Hagerstown Elks Club #378 and a long time member of the Elks ten pin bowling league. He had an avid love for hunting, fishing, and golf.
He is survived by five children, Linda Schindel and husband Tim of Hagerstown, Toni Tracey and husband Steve of Smithsburg, MD, Steve Booth of Austin, TX, Lance Booth and wife Lisa of Wakeforest, NC, and Kristen Barnett and husband Todd of Longwood, FL; four grandchildren; James Schindel of Hagerstown, Ryan Heaton and wife Kelly of North East, MD, Ethan and Rylin Barnett of Longwood, Fl; three great-grandchildren; Kacee Schindel of Hagerstown, Jacob and Samantha Heaton of North East, MD.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, June 17, at 12:00 pm at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave, Hagerstown, MD
The family will be receiving friends one hour prior at Rest Haven Funeral Home in the reception area.
