James E. Baker

Hagerstown, MD James E. Baker, 70, of Hagerstown, passed away, Monday, November 10, 2014 at his home.
Born July 6, 1944 in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late, Jacob Elmer Baker and Doris Anita Clark. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, John Dawson Clark.
Jim was the owner of Hoffman Clothiers, Inc. of Hagerstown.
He was a veteran of the Maryland National Guard.
He was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #378 and served for many years with The Hagerstown Rotary Club.
Jim's hobbies included playing the organ, reading, tennis and dancing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, S. Sue Baker; one son, Chad Andrew Baker and wife, Colleen of Ashburn, VA.; one daughter, Kristen Nicole Baker of Purcellville, VA.; one sister, Deborah Ann Cornett and husband, J. Edward of Hagerstown; seven wonderful grandchildren, Jacob Brendan Fisher, Kate Macallan Fisher, Derek James Fisher, Miles Andrew Baker, Gavin Anthony Baker, Reid Patrick Baker and Presley Roan Baker. He was also blessed to have many other close family members and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at John Wesley United Methodist Church, Hagerstown with the Rev. Patrick Ricker officiating.
Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
Friends will be received on Thursday November 13 from 7-9 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to John Wesley United Methodist Church, 129 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
