James Richard Harris, Sr., 40, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away, Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born October 23, 1980 in Hagerstown he was the son of Edward and Debi (Faith) Stevens.
James was a 1998 graduate of Clear Spring High School.
He was currently employed by Food Lion Distribution Center, Greencastle, Pa. He also took pride in the fact that one of his previous jobs was manager of Subway on Garland Groh Blvd., Hagerstown.
James loved his entire family but the greatest love he had was his son, James II. Nothing made him happier than being a father to him. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his mom and friend and he loved his truck. One of the joys of his life was helping other people when he could and that spirit didn't end at death because he was an organ donor. He donated 4 of his organs including his heart.
He is survived by his son, James II and his son's mother, Amanda; his parents, Edward and Debi Stevens; brother, David Harris; half-brother, Douglas Harris; niece, Emily Harris; nephew, Shane Harris and many other nieces and nephews; uncle and aunt, Roland and Dottie Stover; his best friend, Kevin Shank; wife, Lorie Harris.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Toby Harris; step brother, Patrick Stevens; paternal grandparents, James and Margaret Stevens; maternal grandparents, Richard and Violet Vaughn and last but not least his dog, BoBo.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Dennis Whitmore officiating. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations we ask that social distancing be observed.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in James's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
