Jane (Blickenstaff) Finniff, 92, of Hagerstown, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 24, 2016, at Coffman’s Nursing Home.
Born on December 7, 1923 at home in Chewsville, MD she was the daughter of the late Ralph O. Blickenstaff and Hattie Mae (Eckstine) Blickenstaff.
She attended Hagerstown High School through the 10th grade. She went to work for her father in his “Peoples Paint Store.” When World War II started, she went to work at Fairchild with her brother Russell, her father and many uncles “the Blickenstaff brothers.” Over her many years of working she sold Beauty Counselor products, and at the age of 42 opened her own hair salon, Beauty Glo Hairstyling.
Jane was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Elks No. 378.
She is survived by three children Jack L. Finniff and wife Joy, Shirley A. Finniff and Ernest W. Finniff, III and wife, Shirley; Five grandchildren, Deb Plume, Doug Finniff, Wendy Hogbin, Kathy Stump, and Ernest W. Finniff, IV; Eleven great-grand-children Katie Hade, Megan Mera, Ryan Finniff, Cole Finniff, Sarah Hogbin, Tim L. Hogbin, Kelsey Hogbin, Asher Stump, Evan Stump, Cullen Finniff, and Avery Finniff and one great-great grandson, Brody Hade and two great-great granddaughters, Diem Hade and Ava Mera; sister in law, Elaine Smith and husband, Ron.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Ernest W. Finniff, Jr., her brother Russell Blickenstaff, and sisters Leah Dobbins, and Mary Ridenour.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue in Hagerstown. Rev. Elizabeth Jackson will officiate. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel on, Friday from 6-8 P.M.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church or Coffman’s Nursing Home, Activities Program.
