Jane McDaniel Keller, 80, of Hagerstown, passed away, Saturday, December 10, 2016, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick, Md.
Born May 19, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan she was the daughter of the late James S. "Steve" and Josephine O. "Odell" (Johnson) McDaniel.
Mrs. Keller taught second graders at Torry Elementary in Birmingham, Mich. After two decades of raising her four children, she reentered the workforce in retail sales at Emmert's department store in Martinsburg, W.Va. She later worked as an advertising sales representative for the Wednesday Journal and, after that, for Antietam Cable Company. She was working as a recruiter for Donna Kay Personnel at the time of her retirement.
She graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Education Degree.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Hagerstown, and volunteered for the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and the Singer Society. She also served on her community homeowners association.
In addition to her many professional skills, she was a talented seamstress.
She was a passionate animal lover and enjoyed "spoiling" her beloved dogs Jake and Buddy.
She is survived by four children, Jeffrey J. Keller and wife Sue of New Market, Md., William J. Keller and wife, Beverly of Ballwin, Mo.; Richard J. Keller and wife Cheryl of Martinsburg, W.Va.; and Patricia J. Keller of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Thomas S. McDaniel and wife Susan of Birmingham, Michigan; two granddaughters, Lisa and Amy Keller of Ballwin, Mo.
A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 3:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Jake Caldwell officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
