Jean Elizabeth Boward

Jean Elizabeth Boward, 94, of Hagerstown, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Julia Manor Health Care Center.
Born October 2, 1922, she was the daughter and step-daughter of the late Harry W. and Mable Carbaugh. In addition, she also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, James F. Boward; one son, Robert F. Boward; two brothers, John Carbaugh, Sr. and Craig Carbaugh; two sisters, Margaret Nave and Mary Hopkins Smith; one step brother, Donald Eckard; two step sisters, Rhonda Ramsey and Treva Martz; and her biological mother, Edith C. Daley.
Mrs. Boward retired from Hess Co. where she was a machine operator and previously worked for Victor Hosiery.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Tangena M. King (Richard); two great-grandchildren, Michael Noble (Courtney) and Krystle King; sister in law, Doris Brandt and her best friend, Willie Small.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Pastor Jay Fretz officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jean's name to OCA Self Directed Care Program, 121 E. Antietam St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
The family would like to thank Julia Manor Nursing Home and the Hospice of Washington County for their kindness and personal care given to Jean.
