Jean Kim Lease

Jean Kim (Van Zile) Lease, 61, of Hagerstown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at University of Maryland Medical Center.
Born March 3, 1955 in Takoma Park, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Doris Lorraine (Ebersole) Van Zile.
Jean was a 1973 graduate of Col. Zadok A. Magruder High School, in Rockville, MD.
She retired on April 1st of this year after 27 years of service as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service in Clear Spring, MD.
Jean attended Sunday school every Sunday at Paramount Brethren in Christ Church. She was a member of a daily walking group as well as her "Boo-Hoo" group for grieving widows that gave her comfort after losing her husband. Jean will be remembered for all the love and dedication she gave to her family and friends. She had an intense joy for life!
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Richard Phillip Lease, who died April 4, 2005; and a granddaughter, Lillie Angel Lease.
She is survived by four children, Megan Lease, Marci Phelps and husband Chris, Matthew Lease, and Alison Fisher and husband Michael; a brother, William Van Zile; two sisters, Barbara Payne, Jacqueline Gary; and seven grandchildren, Nicholas Minnich, Jacob Minnich, Ian Phelps, Maddie Phelps, Ella Phelps, Nate Phelps, and Ivy Lease.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Rev. Robert A. Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received from 6-8pm on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
