Jerry Breeden

February 24, 1944 — June 20, 2017

"Jerry" Gerald Wesley Breeden, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born Feb. 24, 1944, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Benjamin Breeden and Helen (Shoemaker) Breeden Moore.

Jerry was a 1962 graduate of North Hagerstown High School and joined the United States Airforce, stationed in Charlestown, S.C.

Jerry was currently employed at "Mack" Volvo Power Train for the past 48 years.

He was a member of the Williamsport Red Men Tribe #84.

He loved slot car racing and dirt car racing. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan. Jerry loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping at Saunderosa Park. Most of all, Jerry loved going to watch and support every activity his grandchildren were involved in. They were the joy of his life!

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Faye (Abbott) Breeden; two sons, Todd Breeden and wife Kim, Rodney Breeden and wife Tracy of Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Branden, Autumn, Allysen, Courtney, Madison; a great-grandson, Apollo; and many friends.


The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown.

Inurnment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jerry's name to, John R. Marsh Center, 11110 Medical Campus Rd., #129, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
