Joan Gibson Kline

Joan Gibson Kline, 78, of Greencastle, passed away at home, peacefully with her loved ones, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013.
Born, April 11, 1935 in Frederick County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Erle Woodroe and Virginia Mae (Longerbeam) Payne. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her husband Hagerstown Police Officer Donald R. Kline, who was killed in the line of duty on December 13, 1975; infant son, Edward Davis, Jr.; brother, Michael Johnson and sister, Jacqueline Sheffield.
Mrs. Kline spent many years helping people in the medical field.
She was a 51 year member of Grace United Methodist Church. She volunteered in the after-school program.
She also was a past local and Maryland State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary, Aerie #694. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary, Thomas Pangborn Lodge #88, all of Hagerstown.
She is survived by son and daughter in law, Kirk and Patti Davis of Greencastle; daughter, Deborah J.
Davis of Hagerstown; a step daughter, Vienna Kline Moon of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, Erik Davis, Patrick Davis and Taylor Davis and wife, Amanda; a niece, Mildred Lynn Sheffield; a nephew, Ronald Erle Sheffield; Special friends, Sarah Pearce, Melanie Brammer, Connie Grimsley and Belle Eger.
A memorial service will conducted on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hagerstown, with the Rev. George A.
Limmer officiating.
Interment will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery.
She will be laid to rest with her husband on the 38th Anniversary of the day he was buried.
