Joan Staley Forcino, 73, of Hagerstown, passed away Thursday, Oct, 14, 2010, at her home.
Born Jan. 12, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Hillard and Kathryn (McAllister) Staley.
Joan was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a graduate of Washington County Hospital School of Nursing.
She retired from NIH, in Bethesda, as a registered nurse of 40 years.
She is survived by her loving husband, James "Mick" Forcino; two sons, Jeff L. Forcino and wife Cathy of Tampa, Fla., and David C. Forcino and wife Lori of Smithsburg; one daughter, Karen L. Hoagland and husband, Paul of Hagerstown; three sisters, Betty Keller, Jean Hill and Gloria Clevenger, all of Hagerstown; four grandchildren, Carly Churchey, Katherine Hottinger and husband John Jr., Lesley Hoagland and James Hoagland; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda Trovinger; and three brothers, George, John and Dick Staley.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. David F. Vance officiating. Mausoleum entombment will be private in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour before the service at the funeral home.
