Joann Grace West

June 6, 1932 — April 30, 2017

Joann Grace (Giuliani) West, 84, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Meritus Medical Center.

Born June 6, 1932 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Dante and Mazie (Hartel) Giuliani.

Joann was a graduate of Hagerstown High School where she was a member of the cheer leading squad and she attended Hagerstown Junior College, earning 27 credits

She worked in her father's store on North Potomac St. during her high school years. She later worked part time for First National Banks and A&P market.

She was a member of First Christian Church, where she was a member of the Eveready Class. Joann was also in charge of the cradle role, which she loved. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Fountain Head Country Club.

Joann was a caregiver to the young and old all throughout her adult life.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sons, John J. West and Donald E. West, Jr.; a daughter, Donna Marie West; and a sister, Donna McIntire.

Joann is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Donald E. West; a son, Ronald West; brother, Harry Giulani and wife, Pat; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Wayne A. Warren officiating.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joann's name to First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
