Joann Marie Wetzel

Joann Marie Wetzel, 82, of Hagerstown, passed away Thursday, October 20th, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport. 

Born July 22, 1940, in Greencastle, PA she was the daughter of the late Frederick G. and Edith V. (Sword) Miller.

Joann had graduated from the Chambersburg Hospital School of Nursing and had worked as an LPN at the Washington County Hospital, Maryland Correctional Training Center and Roxbury Correctional Institute.

She was of Protestant faith and had been a member of the Red Hat Society while also enjoying gardening and bus trips.

Joann is survived by a son Shawn W. Wetzel of Hagerstown and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul W. Wetzel in 2001, five brothers; Harold, David, Jack, Donald, and John Miller, five sisters; Helen Myers, Mabel Statler, Louise Berkheimer, Edna Miller and Nancy Trainer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 24, 2022, at Rest Haven Funeral Home 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742 with Pastor David Rawley officiating burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
