Joanne Katherine Rubino

Hagerstown, MD Joanne Katherine Rubino, 86, of Hagerstown, passed away, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.

Born August 1, 1929 in Johnstown, Pa. she was the daughter of the late, Frank and Eleanor (Neville) DeMaria. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by a son, James F. Rubino and a brother, Frank J. DeMaria Jr.

In addition to being a homemaker she also was the front desk manager at her son's dental practice in Hagerstown.

She was a member of First Christian Church, Hagerstown. She was She was past president of the Junior Womens Club of Greensburg, Pa., past president of four different Parent Teacher Associations, past president of both the West Virginia and Maryland State Auxiliary Horticultural Societies, she organized daily volunteer staffing of the North Hagerstown High School Health Clinic for four years, she was both a Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Troop leader, past president of the Antietam Garden Club and a member of the Fountain Head Garden Club.

She is survived by five children, Anthony J. Rubino, III, Deborah L. Guzzo (Don), Dr. Jeffrey J. Rubino (Terrie), Karen A. Bradshaw (Bill) and Mary K. Huff; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey McGreevy and Deanna Betcher (Hank) a daughter in law, Myriam Rubino and a sister in law, Lori Brimmier (Herm).

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Mark C. Mooney officiating.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Coffman Nursing Home, Activities Department, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
