John Joseph Liebl

John Joseph Liebl, 76, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020, at his residence in Francis Murphy Senior Apartments in Hagerstown.

Born on July 30, 1944 in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Marie Elaine (Caulwell) and Luitpold Liebl. He was predeceased by two brothers; Luitpold J. Liebl and Francis Liebl, and one sister; Patricia Kaufhold.

John was a 1962 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School and earned his Associate's Degree from Hagerstown Junior College.

He was a manager and retired from Prophet Food Service at General Motors in Martinsburg, WV after 27 years of service.

John was the family's great storyteller and constantly entertained friends and strangers. He was dearly loved and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two beloved daughters; Holly A. Dalton and husband John of McLean, VA and Gretchen L Graves of Hagerstown, two grandsons; William J Dalton of McLean, VA and John C. Graves of Hagerstown, and many nieces and nephews. The grandsons affectionately referred to John as "Papa." One brother in law; Michael Kaufhold, and two sisters in law; Genevieve Liebl and Rose Liebl.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Deacon Gary Fulmer of St. Ann's Catholic Church officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior at the funeral home.

Interment will follow on November 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mt. Rose Ave., York, PA 17403.

Due to COVID-19, guests are restricted to 30 inside the funeral home at one time, masks and social distancing required.
