Williamsport, MD John Leroy Upperman, Jr., 92 of Williamsport, passed away, Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Twin Oaks Assisted Living, Williamsport.
Born January 9, 1924 in Williamsport he was the son of the late, John L., Sr. and Mary Lucy (Wolfe) Upperman. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Charlene (Downs) Upperman; two sisters, Ruth Beitler and Phyllis Manzel.
Mr. Upperman was Brethren by faith.
He retired with 22 years of service as a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force and after his military service he worked for M.P. Moller Pipe Organs in Hagerstown.
He was a member of the Williamsport American Legion, Post 202.
He is survived by a brother, Lawrence T. Upperman of Hagerstown and a sister, Marion Ashlock of Williamsport.
Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. mark C. Mooney officiating.
