Joseph Luipersbeck, 91, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, October 4, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown.
Born July 17, 1933, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Mary and Joseph Luipersbeck.
He graduated Hagerstown High School class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War after which he was employed at Pangborn Corp for 37 years in the R+D department.
He married Patricia Browning the day after Christmas in 1955 and they were married for 68 years. They had two children, Patrick (Christina), and Judith (Joseph Chrisp). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Timothy Luipersbeck, Jessica Smith, Daniel Luipersbeck, Marissa McNally, and Joseph Dean Chrisp, III; five great-grandchildren, Patrick Luipersbeck, Graham Luipersbeck, Finley McNally, Rory McNally, and Joseph Dean Chrisp IV and one step great granddaughter, Aubrey Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Joe was an avid deer hunter. He was one of the founders of Valley Little League and coached many winning teams over the years.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
Funeral services will be private.Memorial donations in Joe’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church- 224 West Washington St., Hagerstown MD 21740.
