Joyce Amanda Strang

Joyce Amanda (Smith) Strang, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away Monday, March 16, 2020 at Fahrney Keedy Nursing Home, in Boonsboro.
Born October 29, 1931 in Bradford, PA, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Rankin and Mildred Pearl Irene (Johnson) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl F. Strang; and sister, Irene Peasley.
Joyce is a graduate of Bradford High School.
She was a member of Hagerstown Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
She enjoyed gardening, reading, going for walks and taking good care of her home. Her love for baby sitting developed into a love for taking care of adults. She worked for many years as an adult foster care provider for the county, starting in Takoma Park and then continuing her career in Hagerstown. She had a loving personality.
Joyce is survived by her son, Barry Strang; her daughter, Deborah Miller; two granddaughters, Tina Poole and Kim Wareham; two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Kethri Wareham; and her sister, Gloria Campbell Roys.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 19, 2020 in Rest Haven Cemetery, 1601 PA Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Roger Larsen officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband.
