Julia Lee Carter

Julia “Julie” Lee (Boyers) Carter, 75, of Hagerstown, MD, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, March 30, 2025 at Heritage Hills Retirement Home in Greencastle, Pa. 

Born June 25, 1949 in Harrisonburg, Va., Julie was the daughter of the late Alfred and Charlotte “Connie” Boyers, and the late Sally and Edward Wise.

 An avid reader, crafter and volunteer, Julie made some of her favorite memories in Brazil, where she was a missionary to the deaf community. 

She was a member of the Calvary Mennonite Church in Marion, Pa.. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold “Wayne,” sister, Lynda (Irvin), and brother, Alfred “Bill” Boyers, Jr (Janet). 

She is survived by daughter, Marilynda “Mari” Lowery (James), sisters, Mary Kline (Steve), Paulette Robinson (Harry), Krista Strock (Lew), and brother, Bruce (Tamara), and numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Calvary Mennonite Church,  559 Overcast Road, Chambersburg, Pa. with service commencing at 11 a.m.
