Kathleen Ann (Benner) Smith, 67, of Sharpsburg, died on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at her home.
Born May 2, 1954, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Junior and Eleanor Cook.
She had previously worked for Fountain Head Country Club, Schmankerl Stube, and Western Maryland Hospital. She married Robert Smith, Jr. on May 13, 2017.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, her children; Charles Lee Benner, Sr. (Connie) of Greencastle, Wayne Eugene Benner (Robin) of Greencastle, and Diane Michelle Sims (Eric) of Martinsburg, stepchildren; Robert Smith III, Mary Danielle Cramer, Charles Linford Benner Jr., Tina Hommer, and Lisa Langley, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters; Mary Stover and Donna Grey, one brother; Ken Cook, and her faithful dog; Lucy.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was preceded in death by her first husband; Charles Linford "PeeWee" Benner Sr., who died on July 21, 2013, her brother; Russell Cook, sister; Linda Pleasant, grandson; Shane Michael Benner, and her beloved dogs; Harley and Peggy.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Chad Carter officiating. Interment will follow to Cedar Lawn.
