Kathleen Jeanette (Heefner) Smith, 69, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born October 9, 1946, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sara (Williams) Heefner.
She was a 1965 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.
Kathleen was a member of Cornerstone Community Church. She enjoyed shopping, crafts, coloring books, and visiting with family and friends. She loved all children and animals.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, William M. Smith, I; four children, Jenny Shank and husband David, William Smith, II, and companion Wanda; Mark Smith and wife Kelly, all of Hagerstown, Shellie Fiddler and husband Jimmy, Jr. of Fayetteville, NC; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742. Burial will follow in Salem Reformed Church Cemetery.
Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
