Kathryn Louise Bond

Kathryn Louise (McCoy) Bond, 100, of Hagerstown passed away, Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the Village at Robinwood, Hagerstown.
Born August 11, 1916 in Maugansville, Maryland she was the daughter of the late, Stanley R. and Ora Mae (Binkley) McCoy. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her loving husband, John E.C. Bond in 1994 and two brothers, Richard and Robert McCoy.
Mrs. Bond was a 1933 graduate of Hagerstown High School and a 1934 graduate of the Columbia Business School.
She was named Miss Maugansville in the Wings of Time Pageant in 1937.
In addition to being a homemaker, she had previously worked for Kay Jewelers from 1935 - 1937 and then after the attack on Pearl Harbor she worked for J B Ferguson Company at the 428th AAF Base Unit in Richmond, Va.
Mrs. Bond was a charter and oldest living member of Haven Lutheran Church, Hagerstown. She was active in the church serving in the office, Altar Guild, Vacation Bible School and many other ministries.
In addition to enjoying traveling to Ocean City, Bermuda and the Grand Canyon she loved, knitting, sewing and reading.
Mrs. Bond is survived by two daughters, Kristin Andrews and husband, Don of Williamsport and Karen Marcellino and husband, David of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Abigail E. Andrews and John M. Morgan IV and fiance, Bridget and her children, Kortnee and Jake; one great grandson, Zachary Morgan and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown with Rev. Linda M. Alessandri officiating.
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday one hour prior to services.
