Kenneth Lee McDowell

Kenneth Lee McDowell, 86, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away at his home on April 22, 2024. Born on June 2, 1937, Kenneth was the son of the late David H. McDowell and Ann Elizabeth (Fuss) McDowell/Knott.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda J. McDowell; son, D. Todd McDowell; stepson, Jody L. Hershberger; stepdaughter, Lona J. Hershberger; and sister Faye Spickler.

Kenneth was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a passionate and avid golfer, belonging to Beaver Creek Country Club. He was a sports fan his whole life, in his younger years he played softball. Kenneth was of Christian faith.

He is survived by brothers, Bryan McDowell and wife, Roberta, and Lennis Knott and wife, Sylvia; nephews, Robert Spickler, and Paul Spickler; nieces, Angela McDowell, and Jill Harper.

A memorial service will be held on May 14, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. with a one hour visitation prior at Rest Have Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742. A graveside service with military honors will be held on May 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery.
