Kenneth Wayne Anderson

Kenneth W. Anderson, 98, of Hagerstown, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Twin Oaks Assisted Living in Williamsport.

Kenneth was born in Hagerstown on October 4, 1919 to the late Lottie (Long) and Russell Anderson. In addition to his parents, Kenneth is preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years Virginia B. (Singley) Anderson; a grandson Jeremy Miner; 3 brothers Richard Anderson, Harold Anderson, Edwin Anderson; and 4 sisters Romaine Moser, Edna Mae Rohrer, Faybell Kessinger, and Patricia Waters.

Kenneth was a WWII U.S. Army veteran from 1941 to 1946. He served in Europe under General George Patton.

Kenneth owned and operated a country store in Funkstown, and Anderson Beer Distributors in Frederick.

Kenneth was a member of the Elks Club, Moose Lodge, and Eagles Club all in Frederick, Redmen's Club in Williamsport, Amvets Post #10, American Leagion Post # 222.


Kenneth is survived by 4 daughters Carole McComas and husband Mike of Gold Canyon, AZ, Candace Davidson and husband Kirby of Harpers Ferry, WV, Tamara Boone and husband Mark of Williamsport, and Barbara Warrenfeltz and husband Mike of Hagerstown; 8 grandchildren John Best III and wife Christina, Zachary Fraker and wife Holly, Rebekah Duvall and husband Mark, Amy Staley and husband Curtis, Mindy Goody and husband Darren, Michelle Gescher and husband Larry, Melissa McGarvey and husband Jason, and Michael Warrenfeltz and wife Amy; 19 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all the staff members at Twin Oaks Assisted Living for all the care and support they demonstrated with Dad.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Inc. 1601 Pennsylvania Ave Hagerstown, MD with Chaplain Jeff Casto officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received from 6-8 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kenneth's name to Doey's House 747 Northern Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21742.
