Kim was called back home to our Loving Heavenly Father on February 6, 2017.
Kim was born on April 6, 1954 in S.L.C. Utah to Ann Evans Powell and Calvin Cox Powell.
Kim fought a brave battle with a brain tumor for almost a year, where he passed away at home with his family.
Kim met and married Jenise Marie Anthony in S.L.C. Utah in June of 1978.
Kim joined and served in the United States Navy for 22 and half years. Kim was on two ships during his service in the Navy, the USS Arkansas, where his specialty was the Tomahawk Cruise Missile. Kim served during the Gulf War, Operation Desert Storm, Kosovo and participated in Operation Fiery Vigil following the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in the Philippines.
After his retirement from the military he went to work for a company, American Systems for eleven years. He was currently working for a company, Chenega at the time of his illness. Kim also worked many years part time for Domino's Pizza, as a driver. Kim was a very hard worker who gave 100% to his work and family.
Kim and Jenise had five sons and one daughter and three grandchildren. The oldest Christopher and his wife, Patricia and their two daughters, Ann Marie and Isabella, Anthony William Powell, Brandon Michael Powell with Trisha and newbaby Blake Michael Powell, Calvin Matthew Powell, Cameron Cory Powell and Hannah Elizabeth Powell. Kim was so happy to finally have a grandson, Blake from his son Brandon and Trisha. When Blake was born on November 30, 2016 he made it up to go see him and was able to hold him in his wheel chair. When ever Kim was able to see Blake he was always so happy to hold him in his arms, many times there were tears in his eyes.
Kim was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Evans, father, Calvin Cox and brother, Donald Powell. Kim had two sisters Deborah Sorenson and Christina Sterneckert and two brothers, Gerald Powell and Bradley Powell.
